Free NPS calculator

Evoriqa's free NPS calculator turns your survey counts into a Net Promoter Score. Enter how many customers scored 9 or 10, 7 or 8, and 0 to 6. You get a score from -100 to 100 and the share of each group. The maths runs in your browser, and nothing you type is sent anywhere.

Answer customers faster, then measure it again

A score only helps if you act on it. Evoriqa’s AI agent answers customers on chat and phone from your own content and hands over to your team when a person is needed. Read how teams track CSAT next to it. Then see how many customers leave with the churn rate calculator.

How a Net Promoter Score is worked out

The standard method, in one formula. The calculator applies it to the counts you enter.

How a 0 to 10 answer is grouped
AnswerGroupIn the score?
9 or 10PromoterAdds to it
7 or 8PassiveOnly in the total
0 to 6DetractorTakes away

The formula

NPS = % promoters − % detractors

50 promoters, 30 passives and 20 detractors is 100 answers. That is 50% minus 20%, so the score is 30.

What it leaves out

The score says nothing about why people scored as they did. Add an open question, and read it alongside the number.

How to calculate your NPS

  1. 01

    Ask the one question

The standard survey asks how likely a customer is to recommend you, from 0 to 10. Send it to customers after a purchase or a closed conversation.
  2. 02

Sort the answers into three groups

A 9 or 10 is a promoter. A 7 or 8 is a passive. A score from 0 to 6 is a detractor. Count how many answers fall in each group.
  3. 03

    Enter the three counts

Type the counts, not percentages. The calculator adds them up and shows each group's share of all responses.
  4. 04

Read the score and track it

Above zero means more promoters than detractors. One score tells you little, so measure on the same schedule and watch the trend.

Frequently asked questions

What is a Net Promoter Score?

NPS measures loyalty with one question: how likely are you to recommend us, from 0 to 10? The score is the percentage of promoters minus the percentage of detractors.

How is NPS calculated?

Divide promoters by all responses and detractors by all responses, then subtract the second percentage from the first. Passives are in the total but not in the score.

What is a good NPS?

There is no universal target. Scores differ by industry, survey timing and audience, so quoted averages mislead. Compare your own score against your own past scores.

Why can NPS be negative?

The score runs from -100 to 100. It goes below zero when you have more detractors than promoters. It is -100 when every answer is 0 to 6.

How many responses do I need?

More is better. With few replies, a handful of answers can swing the score a lot. Read it as a trend rather than a fact.

What is the difference between NPS and CSAT?

NPS asks about loyalty across the whole relationship. CSAT asks how a single interaction went. Many support teams track both, for different reasons.

Does the calculator save my numbers?

No. The maths runs in your browser and the counts are never sent to Evoriqa. Site analytics records only that a result was copied, never the numbers.

Can an AI agent help raise my score?

It can give customers answers at any hour, from your own content, and hand over to your team when a person is needed. We make no promise about your score.
