Free SMS link generator

Evoriqa's free SMS link generator builds an sms: link that opens a text message to your number. Add a message and it is already typed in when the customer taps. Copy the link, or copy an HTML snippet for a Text us button on your site. It runs in your browser, and nothing you type is sent anywhere.

Everything is made in your browser. Nothing is sent or saved.

Your SMS link

Enter the number to text. Your sms: link appears here.

Let an AI agent answer the texts this link brings

Evoriqa’s SMS channel answers inbound texts from your own content and hands over to your team when a person is needed. Check a draft fits in one text with the SMS character counter. Prefer WhatsApp? Use the WhatsApp link generator.

Where a text link helps

Anywhere a customer is on a phone and would rather type than talk.

A Text us button

Paste the snippet beside your phone number. Phone visitors get a text box in one tap, with the question already started.

Email and review requests

Link a Reply by text line in confirmations and receipts. Use a different opening message per email so you know the source.

Keep the opener short

The customer may edit it, and a long one looks pushy. For reminders you send yourself, see the appointment reminder text generator.

How to make an SMS link

  1. 01

Enter the number customers should text

Add the country code and the number. Spaces, dashes and brackets are fine, and a leading 0 is dropped for you.
  2. 02

Type the message they will start with

Keep it to a line, such as Hi, I'd like to book. The counter shows whether it fits in one text.
  3. 03

Take the link or the HTML

Use the link in a button, an email or a bio. Use the HTML snippet to paste a Text us link into a web page.
  4. 04

Tap your own link on two phones

Try an iPhone and an Android phone. Check the number is right and the message appears in the box.

The one link form

Checked against RFC 5724 in October 2026.

RFC 5724 writes the link as sms: and the number, then ?body= and the message. Its example is sms:+15105550101?body=hello%20there. The RFC says nothing about iOS or Android. We did not find a vendor page that documents a difference, so there is one form.

Frequently asked questions

What does an sms: link do?

Tapping it opens the phone's messaging app with your number filled in. If you add a message, it is already in the text box.

Does the link send the text for me?

No. RFC 5724 describes the message as initial text the user may change before sending. The customer always presses send.

Is there a different link for iPhone and Android?

We found no vendor documentation for one, so the tool builds the single form RFC 5724 defines. Some phones or apps may ignore the typed-in message. Test yours.

How are spaces and symbols in the message handled?

They are percent-encoded, as the RFC asks. A space becomes %20, an ampersand %26 and a line break %0A, so the message arrives as typed.

Can I text more than one number?

The RFC allows several numbers separated by commas. This tool builds one, because a customer link should open a single clear conversation.

Will it work on a desktop computer?

That depends on which app is set to handle sms: links. Many computers have none. Put a phone number on the page too.

Who can see the number and text I enter?

Only you. The link is assembled on your device and nothing is uploaded. Analytics records that a link was copied, not what it contains.
