Free vCard QR code generator

Evoriqa's free vCard QR code generator turns your contact details into a QR code for a business card. When a customer scans it, their phone offers to save your name, number, email and website as a contact. Download the code as a PNG or an SVG. It runs in your browser, and nothing you type is sent anywhere.

Address (optional)

Everything is made in your browser. Nothing is sent or saved.

Your QR code

Add a name or a company, and your contact QR code appears here. Add only what you want a stranger to be able to save.

Every extra field makes the code denser. If a phone struggles to scan it, drop the address or the job title.

Where a contact QR code earns its place

A card, a van and a shop window all suit it. A website does not, because a link is easier there.

On the back of a card

Keep the front for your name and trade. Put the code alone on the back with a quiet margin around it.

On a van or a shop window

A passer-by can save you in seconds. Print it large from the SVG, and keep the phone number and email only.

In an email signature

Add the PNG so a client can scan it from a screen. A plain phone link is lighter, so also try the click to call link generator.

How to make a QR code for a business card

  1. 01

Type the details a customer needs

Add a first name, last name or company, then a phone, email and website. Leave out anything you would not hand to a stranger.
  2. 02

Check the code is not too crowded

Each field adds dots. A short card makes a code that scans fast, even from a small print or across a counter.
  3. 03

Download the PNG or the SVG

Use the PNG on a website or in an email signature. Send the SVG to your printer for cards, vans and signs.
  4. 04

Scan it with two different phones

Open each phone's camera on the printed card. Check the name, number and email all arrive in the new contact.

What goes inside the code

The format is a public standard, so any phone contact app can read it.

The tool writes a vCard 3.0 file. It starts with BEGIN:VCARD and VERSION:3.0, then N and FN, which the standard requires. The phone, email and address follow. You can read exactly what is in your code under the result.

Frequently asked questions

How do I put a QR code on a business card?

Make the code here, download the SVG and give it to your card printer. Print it on the back, dark on light, at least 2.5 cm (1 inch) wide as a rule of thumb.

What is a vCard?

A vCard is a small text file that holds one contact: name, phone, email and so on. RFC 2426 defines version 3.0, which is the version this tool writes.

Will the contact update if I change my phone number?

No. The details are written into the code itself, so a changed number means a new code. Reprint cards after any change you care about.

Which fields can I include?

Name, company, job title, phone, email, website and a work address. Only a name or a company is required. The rest are optional.

Why is my code so dense?

A vCard QR code holds the whole contact, not a short link, so a long address makes small dots. Drop the address or title to simplify it.

Are commas and accents handled correctly?

Yes. Commas, semicolons, backslashes and line breaks are escaped as RFC 2426 asks, and names like Zoë or Łukasiewicz are kept as typed.

Where do the contact details I type end up?

Only in the code you download. The page builds it on your device. Analytics notes that a code was downloaded, never a name, number or email.
