Which one is the best fit?

Already run your phones on Nextiva, or need SOC 2 Type II and a HIPAA-eligible BAA from the vendor behind the receptionist? Nextiva's XBert is built for that. Choose Evoriqa

Best for agencies & resellers

Keep your existing number, forwarded to one agent that covers the phone, chat, WhatsApp and SMS.

  • You want to keep your existing number and forward it to the agent, without replacing your phone system to get a receptionist
  • You want the same agent answering the phone, website chat, WhatsApp and SMS from one knowledge base and one inbox
  • You want published plans with a free tier. Top-ups are priced at the same per-credit rate as the plan of the same size. You don't want $1.50 for every conversation past the first 100, as listed in October 2026
  • You resell support to clients and need a white-label workspace and spend cap per client

Stay with Nextiva AI Receptionist

Nextiva's XBert is an AI receptionist from a business phone vendor. It is sold standalone or alongside its phone plans, with 100 conversations included each month and a per-conversation charge after that.

  • Your business already runs its phones on Nextiva, or is moving to it, and you want the receptionist on the same account and bill
  • Your procurement checklist asks for SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001 or a HIPAA-eligible BAA from the vendor
  • You want live integrations with Google Calendar, Calendly, Cal.com and Zoho, and CRM connections such as Salesforce and HubSpot added on request

Who Nextiva's AI receptionist is genuinely for

Nextiva is a business phone and customer-experience vendor, and its AI receptionist, XBert, is the product behind searches for "Nextiva AI receptionist". As of October 2026 Nextiva's own product pages describe it as something that answers calls, texts and chats 24/7, including after hours, weekends and holidays. It books, confirms and reschedules appointments against a connected calendar, answers questions from a knowledge base it builds from your website and FAQs, captures and qualifies leads, and hands a call to the right person on your team with the conversation attached. Staff can see transcripts and summaries in a dashboard, and its product demo shows a take-over option for staff. Locations can each have their own greeting and routing rules.

The live integrations listed on the product page are Google Calendar, Calendly, Cal.com, Zoho, Telegram and Housecall Pro, with Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, ServiceTitan and others added on request in two to four days at no cost. On security, the XBert page says it runs on Nextiva's platform, which it describes as SOC 2 Type II audited, ISO 27001 certified and PCI DSS compliant, and HIPAA-eligible once a Business Associate Agreement is signed.

If your business already runs its phones on Nextiva, or is about to move to it, wants the receptionist in the same admin portal and on the same invoice, and needs a vendor with those compliance attestations, XBert is a natural fit. That is a real strength, and for some buyers it decides the question.

What people look for when they consider leaving

Most people don't leave because XBert answers a call badly. They look elsewhere because the way it is sold does not match the receptionist they pictured.

The first thing they look for is clarity about what the phone side needs. Nextiva's pages describe XBert in more than one way. The XBert page calls it a standalone product or an add-on to a Nextiva plan, the AI receptionist page says "Add XBert to your Nextiva plan", and a separate bundle offer pairs it with a Nextiva Core phone licence for $99 a month (October 2026) on a minimum 12-month subscription. We did not find a page that says whether XBert answers a business line you keep with another carrier by call forwarding; Nextiva's own blog talks about porting your number to the platform instead. The second is a price that doesn't count conversations. Nextiva lists $99 a month for 100 conversations, then $1.50 for each one after that (October 2026), and a call counts once it passes 30 seconds, a chat or text once it has three or more interactions. A busy month is a bigger bill. The third is language coverage for the phone: none of the XBert pages we read says which languages it supports. The fourth is selling to clients under your own brand: we found no white-label or reseller program for XBert on the pages we read in October 2026. The fifth is showing a customer where an answer came from: XBert learns from your website and FAQs, but we found nothing published about citing a source with each answer.

The alternatives worth considering, including staying with Nextiva

Stay with Nextiva. If your team lives in Nextiva's phone and customer- experience platform, you want one vendor and one bill for the phones and the receptionist, and your procurement checklist asks for SOC 2 Type II or a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement, XBert is built for that, and moving off it for a few features may not be worth the change.

A live answering service or virtual receptionist, if you want a human voice rather than an AI. These suit businesses where every call needs a person, not a business that wants routine questions answered instantly at any hour.

Another AI phone agent, if you only need the phone and want to compare voice quality and booking integrations before assuming the receptionist from your phone vendor is the only option.

Evoriqa, if you want to keep your existing number, forward it to the agent, cover chat, WhatsApp and SMS with the same agent as the phone, and pay a published monthly price with a free tier to start on. It does not replace your phone system and does not require Nextiva.

Nextiva AI receptionist pricing (October 2026)

The bundle needs a minimum 12-month Core or Engage subscription, and the page does not say how the $99 divides between the phone line and the receptionist. Nextiva's phone plans are priced per user: its blog, updated August 2026, lists Core at $15 per user per month, Engage at $25 and Scale at $75 on annual billing, before taxes and regulatory fees.

Evoriqa's plans are Free ($0, 10 voice minutes), Starter ($29/mo, about 120 voice minutes), Pro ($99/mo, about 520) and Business ($399/mo, about 2,100), with voice on every plan drawing on the same credit pool as chat. The two meters do not line up: Nextiva counts conversations, Evoriqa counts credits, so there is no honest one-to-one conversion. By our arithmetic from Nextiva's October 2026 published rates, 250 conversations in a month is $99 plus 150 extra at $1.50, about $324. On Evoriqa, when a month's allowance runs out nothing breaks or is deleted: the agent keeps capturing conversations and hands them to your team, and one-time top-up packs (from $29 for 300,000 credits) are priced at the same per-credit rate as the plan of the same size, so there is no overage penalty. Evoriqa sells no phone numbers, so the Telnyx or Infobip line you connect is a separate cost on top of the plan. Prices change on both sides, so check each vendor's own page before you decide.

Where Nextiva's AI receptionist is the better choice

Nextiva is the stronger pick in a few specific cases. If your phones run on Nextiva, XBert is $99 a month for 100 conversations, then $1.50 each, as of October 2026. Its product page lists a 30-day money-back guarantee and no long-term contract. Its AI receptionist page says Google Calendar, Calendly, Cal.com, Zoho and Telegram connect at no cost. Salesforce and HubSpot are available on request. The page also says the platform is SOC 2 Type II audited, and Evoriqa holds no SOC 2 report. If a vendor-held certification decides the purchase, Nextiva fits better.

Where Evoriqa fits

Evoriqa starts from one agent rather than a phone product. Point it at your website, docs and FAQs and the same knowledge answers the phone and your website chat, WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, SMS and Slack. Email is routed to your team first. Every conversation lands in one inbox across eight channels. A call that needs a person transfers to your team with the full conversation attached. The Free plan lets you try the phone agent without a card.

Evoriqa does not replace your phone system or require Nextiva, or any other phone vendor, to work. You set up call forwarding at your carrier on your existing business line, pointing it to a Telnyx or Infobip number connected to Evoriqa, and add the number your team's calls should transfer to. Callers keep dialing the number they already know, and the agent answers behind it. That is the practical difference from a receptionist sold inside a phone vendor's catalogue: the receptionist is a product in its own right, so a customer who texts, messages on WhatsApp or opens your chat gets the same answers as one who calls.

Pricing is four published tiers, Free, $29, $99 and $399 per month, with phone minutes and chat drawing on one monthly credit allowance that resets every month. You can set a spend cap per workspace, and the Free plan has a fixed quota with no overage. If you are an agency, every client gets an isolated white-label workspace with its own spend cap, which we could not find an equivalent of on Nextiva's XBert pages in October 2026.

Where Evoriqa doesn't fit

Evoriqa is the wrong tool for part of Nextiva's audience, and it is better to know that now.

If your business wants one vendor for phones, messaging and the receptionist on a single bill, Nextiva sells that bundle and Evoriqa does not: we sell no numbers or phone service, so you bring your own line.

If your procurement checklist demands SOC 2, HIPAA or SSO/SAML, Evoriqa holds none of the three today, while Nextiva's XBert page states SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001 and PCI DSS for its platform and HIPAA eligibility with a signed BAA. Evoriqa's controls run to GDPR export and erasure, enforced 2FA, encrypted secrets, audit logs and workspace isolation on every plan, and the API is available on request. That is not the certification a procurement checklist is asking for, so check Nextiva's own trust documentation against ours and let the hard requirement decide.

A phone line on Evoriqa answers in one configured language. Chat, WhatsApp and SMS detect the customer's language automatically across 32 languages, but the phone does not switch mid-call. Nextiva's pages do not say which languages XBert supports, so ask them before you assume either way.

And if you need the receptionist wired into a Nextiva contact-center setup, with its routing, supervisor tools and the rest of the platform around it, that is a Nextiva strength Evoriqa does not reproduce.

Evoriqa vs Nextiva AI Receptionist, side by side

Already run your phones on Nextiva, or need SOC 2 Type II and a HIPAA-eligible BAA from the vendor behind the receptionist? Nextiva's XBert is built for that. Want to keep your existing number, forwarded to one agent? It answers the phone, your website, WhatsApp and SMS from the same knowledge, on published plans with a free tier. Evoriqa.

Evoriqa

Evoriqa is a receptionist that is not tied to a phone system. You forward your existing business number to a Telnyx or Infobip line connected to Evoriqa, so callers keep dialing the number they know. The same agent answers the phone and your website, WhatsApp, Instagram, Messenger, SMS and Slack from one knowledge base. Email is routed to your team first. All 8 channels land in one inbox, and a call that needs a person transfers to your team with the full conversation attached. Questions, answered

Do I need a Nextiva phone plan to use its AI receptionist?

Nextiva's own pages are not consistent, as of October 2026. The XBert page calls it a standalone product or an add-on to a Nextiva plan. The AI receptionist page says to add XBert to your Nextiva plan. A separate bundle offer pairs it with a Nextiva Core phone licence at $99 a month on a minimum 12-month subscription. We did not find a page saying whether XBert answers a line you keep with another carrier by call forwarding. Evoriqa needs no Nextiva plan. You set up carrier call forwarding on your existing business line to a Telnyx or Infobip number connected to Evoriqa. Callers keep dialing the number they know, and the agent answers alongside chat, WhatsApp and SMS.

How does the price of Nextiva's AI receptionist compare with Evoriqa?

As of October 2026, Nextiva lists XBert at $99 a month for 100 conversations, then $1.50 for each additional one. There is no long-term contract and a 30-day money-back guarantee. A call counts as a conversation once it passes 30 seconds, and a text or chat once it has three or more interactions. On those published rates, 250 conversations in a month works out to about $324 (our arithmetic). Evoriqa counts credits rather than conversations, so the two do not convert one-to-one. Voice is on every plan. Free carries 10 voice minutes, Starter ($29/mo) about 120, Pro ($99/mo) about 520 and Business ($399/mo) about 2,100. If a month's allowance runs out, nothing breaks. The agent keeps capturing conversations for your team. Top-up packs (from $29 for 300,000 credits) are priced at the same per-credit rate as the plan of the same size. There is no overage penalty. The Telnyx or Infobip line you forward to is a separate cost. Check Nextiva's pricing pages, since these figures move.

Does Nextiva's AI receptionist have SOC 2 and HIPAA, and does Evoriqa?

As of October 2026, Nextiva's XBert page says its platform is SOC 2 Type II audited, ISO 27001 certified and PCI DSS compliant. It adds that it is HIPAA-eligible once a Business Associate Agreement is signed. Evoriqa holds none of SOC 2, HIPAA or SSO today. Its controls are tenant isolation, encrypted secrets, enforced 2FA, audit logs and GDPR export and erasure on every plan. The API is available on request. If a certification is a hard requirement for your business, check Nextiva's trust documentation against ours and let that decide.
