Calendly is the provider to choose when your team already runs on it. There are three ways to connect it, and the one that fits depends on your Calendly plan and how hands-on you want the agent to be. Booking is one of Evoriqa's agentic actions, and every run is logged whichever you pick.

Simple mode is the default, and it is the fastest to set up: paste your public Calendly booking-page link and you're done — no API token, no IDs, about thirty seconds. The visitor gets your real Calendly calendar — the official Calendly embed — rendered right in the chat widget and picks a time there. It works on any Calendly plan, the free tier included.

Connected mode connects your Calendly account in one click: you hit Connect Calendly, approve the OAuth hand-off, and pick which event type the agent offers from a dropdown of your live Calendly events — no API token to paste and no plan requirement. Advanced mode connects Calendly's API with a token you paste, so the agent books directly in the conversation, without the visitor leaving the chat. Simple mode: paste your link

Simple mode is the zero-setup path. You give Evoriqa your ordinary public Calendly link, and when a visitor wants to book, the agent brings your actual Calendly booking page into the chat as an inline calendar — the official Calendly embed, not a copy of it. They pick a slot in your real availability right there, the card flips to "Booked ✓" once they're done, and the run is logged like any other action. Nothing about how you run Calendly changes — your event types and calendar rules all keep working, because the calendar they book in is genuinely yours.

Connected mode: connect your account in one click

Connected mode sits between the other two. Instead of pasting a link or a token, you click Connect Calendly, approve the one-time OAuth hand-off, and Evoriqa reads your live event types so you can pick the one the agent should offer from a dropdown — no IDs to copy. It works on any Calendly plan, because what the visitor books in is still the official Calendly embed rendered inline, exactly as in Simple mode.

What Connected mode adds is the live read: because your account is connected, the agent can pull your genuinely open times and show them as tappable chips in the chat, and tapping one opens the inline calendar already pointed at that slot. The connection is stored once for the whole workspace and its access token is refreshed automatically, so you connect a single time and the booking action keeps working across every chatbot that uses it.

Advanced mode: the agent books for them

Advanced mode connects Calendly's API with a personal access token you paste, and lets the agent do the booking itself. It reads your live availability first, so the times it offers are genuinely open, can surface real slots as tappable chips, collects the name, email, and time it needs, and asks the visitor to confirm before it commits anything. Timezones are handled for you.

On a paid Calendly plan the agent creates the confirmed booking on the spot — there's no second step for the visitor to forget. On the free tier, Calendly's Scheduling API isn't open to programmatic booking, so the agent still surfaces your genuinely open times and then hands over a single-use scheduling link for the visitor to confirm. Either way, it never points them at a slot that has already gone.

Connecting it

In the dashboard, open the Book appointment action and choose how you want to take bookings. Simple — paste your public Calendly booking link and save. Connected — click Connect Calendly, approve the one-click OAuth hand-off (no token to paste), then pick the event type the agent should offer from the dropdown of your live Calendly events. Advanced — paste a Calendly personal access token (Calendly → Integrations → API & Webhooks), then pick the event type the same way; there's no ID to copy by hand in either case. If you save an Advanced setup on a free Calendly plan, the dashboard tells you at that point that instant booking needs a paid Calendly plan and points you at Simple or Connected mode as the free-tier route to an in-chat calendar.

What the visitor experiences

In Simple mode the visitor never leaves the conversation: your Calendly calendar opens inline, they pick from times that are actually free, and the card confirms the booking once they're finished. In Connected mode it's the same inline calendar, but the agent can also offer your open times as tappable chips — tap one and the calendar opens right at that slot. In Advanced mode on a paid plan it feels like talking to someone who can see the diary — the agent offers a specific open time, they confirm, and it's booked in the same thread. On free Calendly under Advanced mode they get the same real-availability offer and a single-use link scoped to that one booking. In every case the times on offer were checked against your live calendar first, so nobody is steered toward a slot that has already been taken.

Where it works

Calendly booking runs on the same channels the agent covers: the website widget, the voice phone line, and chat apps like WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram, SMS, and Slack. Where there's a screen, the visitor sees the inline calendar or the in-chat confirmation. On voice and on messaging channels without a rich card, the agent shares the booking link instead, so the flow still ends in a booking wherever the conversation happens.

Calendly or Cal.com?

Both providers can book inside the chat now. The custom-webhook alternative

Calendly is one of the providers that exposes a real availability API, which is what lets Advanced and Connected modes show open slots before it books. Aim the booking action at your own webhook instead and the agent can still book, but without that ahead-of-time calendar read it can't narrow things down to open times first.

Does it book directly or send a link? It depends on the mode.
